How to Maintain a Gas Steam Boiler

A gas steam boiler is clean equipment widely used in building heating, hotel, hospital, textile plant, paper mill, food processing and other industries that need steaming process. In order to ensure its efficient operation, we suggest normal and periodical boiler maintenance.

Normal gas steam boiler maintenance work:

1. Clean

It’s simple to clean a gas steam boiler. Open its burner's door, remove the rear shell panel, unscrew the boiler clean mouth, then use a Ф18 wire brush to clean the gas pipeline and a soft brush to clean the combustion chamber. After finishing residue cleaning, screw on and close the burner's door, then check whether the seals is complete.

2.Anti-freezing

If the temperature is below 0 ℃, some measures must be taken: if the boiler room is outdoor, drop the indoor temperature to 15 ℃ or 18 ℃ and keep boiler running all day; if there is no people in room for long time, people should empty the water inside the boiler.

3.Cathodic Protection

Boiler components are made of different materials (such as iron, copper, aluminum, etc.). To prevent electrochemical corrosion, cathodic protection measures must be taken.

4.Blowdown

Boiler bottom blowdown is very important for preventing the flue gas condensation. Flue gas condensation is due to the water containing in smoke (diesel or natural gas) and too low flue gas temperature.

5.Burner maintenance

No matter boiler body maintenance or boiler burner maintenance, it should be processed by professional staffs. The best maintenance time is after heating period instead of maintaining at the beginning of heating period. Besides, combustion may produce something especially sulfur will corrode the boiler, so do not let the combustion products stay in boiler for long time.
