Malaysia is abundance in biomass resources especially from its main agricultural industries that can be used for co-firing. The two of the main agricultural activities in Malaysia are palm oil and paddy, which are usually used in cofiring biomass power plant. The cost of a biomass power plant includes the main equipment cost (boiler, generator, steam turbine), the other auxiliaries cost, the installation cost, the maintenance cost, and other project cost.
Cofiring is a cost effective way of increasing biomass utilization. The cost for a Malaysian biomass power plant firing empty fruit bunch recently costs RM 120M for 12 MWe of installed capacity. The costs for cofiring can be substantially lower for a similar sized of biomass substitution, for example 2 %th substitution in a 600 MWe furnace.
A power plant boiler is one one the core equipment in a biomass power plant. ZBG provides gas, oil, coal, biomass-fueled boilers and we supply installation service that our engineers are dispatched to the project site for the installation guidance. If you have the plant to build a power plant, contact us and we can help calculate the project cost for you!
