Brief Introduction:
A liquefied natural gas storage tank or LNG storage tank is a specialized type of storage tank used for the storage of liquefied natural gas. The common characteristic of LNG Storage tanks is the ability to store LNG at the very low temperature of -162 °C (-260 °F). LNG storage tanks have double containers, where the inner contains LNG and the outer container contains insulation materials. The most common tank type is the full containment tank. Tanks vary greatly in size, depending on usage.
In LNG storage tanks if LNG vapours are not released, the pressure and temperature within the tank will continue to rise. LNG is a cryogen, and is kept in its liquid state at very low temperatures. The temperature within the tank will remain constant if the pressure is kept constant by allowing the boil off gas to escape from the tank.
Application:
LNG storage tank is a kind of storage and transportation form of natural gas, which is widely used in the recovery and storage of gas, which is beneficial to the long distance transportation of natural gas, and conducive to peaking and developing the market in natural gas and expanding the use of natural gas. Widely used in LNG gasification stations, LNG peak-shaving stations, LNG filling stations and liquefaction plants and so on.
Features:
- Good low temperature resistance performance. The boiling point of pressure liquefied natural gas (LNG) is - 160 ℃, usually choose low temperature and atmospheric pressure storage, the LNG storage tank will easily satisfy the temperature below the boiling point of natural gas requirements.
- High safety performance. LNG storage tank adopts double wall structure. If the first layer of tank leaks, the second layer of the tank can achieve complete sealing of leaking liquid and evaporation to ensure storage safety.
- The inner wall of LNG storage tank adopts 9Ni steel or aluminum alloy and other materials, and the outer wall of LNG storage tank uses prestressed reinforced concrete.
- High-quality insulation measures. It overcomes the adverse factors that temperature difference up to 200 ℃ between LNG inside and outside LNG tank inside and outside.
